Arts Award Dance has been designed to develop a student’s creative and performance skills whilst further developing and applying their knowledge and understanding of core areas of study from across the national curriculum. The programme will be offered in 12 weeksblocks, broken down into 2 x 6 week projects.
Watch your child become increasingly competent and confident and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others.
Your child will creatively engage with choreographic practice through the use of Action, Space, Dynamics and Relationships, Motif Development, Structure and Music/Dance relationships.
Your child will learn the skills to adopt, create and sustain a range of roles, responding appropriately to others in role.Improvise, devise and script drama for one another and a range of audiences, as well as rehearse, refine, share and respond thoughtfully to drama. They will explore techniques of freeze-frame, thought tracking, role play and characterisation.
Throughout their learning with BHVA your child will gain access to strategies to help aid their health and mental well-being by utilising the tools available in the arts.
This programme has been developed to deliver links to your child's curriculum such as: number, shape, geometry and measurement; speaking, listening, improvisation, devising and presenting; anatomy; living things and their habitat; forces and magnets; states of matter; physical geography; local history; PHSE.
These sessions take place on Wednesday 10am - 12pm. Children will need leggings, a BHVA t-shirt, bare feet, and hair tied up.
